Embodying TA in Practice
An intimate and reflective learning space for coaches, educators and practitioners of change.
Many of those working in coaching, education, leadership and change work are carrying increasing complexity, polarisation and emotional intensity in their professional lives. This series of evenings offers a rare reflective space to slow down, think deeply, and reconnect with how we want to be in our work — not just what we do. It's for practitioners who want to practise with greater depth, awareness and relational integrity in times of uncertainty and change.
You will join a closed group of 12 meeting with Karen for two hours every other month to deepen your relational presence in practice. Using Transactional Analysis (TA) as a reflective framework, we will explore how we inhabit our work as coaches, mentors, consultants, educators, activists and others involved in change and development.
You are invited into authentic and rigorous dialogue, reflection and learning that embodies connection, compassion, acceptance and the possibility of thriving within diversity.
This is not a training course or a seminar. It is a relational learning space shaped through dialogue, inquiry, reflection and shared meaning-making.
Over time, participants often experience:
- deeper relational awareness
- greater confidence working with complexity
- a richer integration of TA into practice
- increased intercultural sensitivity
- a stronger sense of grounded presence in professional relationships
- connection with a trusted community of reflective practitioners
Who is this for?
All are welcome.
Whether you are deeply experienced in TA or newly curious about it, you are warmly welcome.
For experienced TA practitioners, these hours may contribute toward the CTA requirement of 300 hours of TA learning or the 500 Additional Hours category.
For those newer to TA, this series offers an opportunity to bring a relational TA lens into your existing practice.
Themes
Across the six sessions, the following themes will provide starting points for reflection and inquiry:
The metaphors of TA ~ Are you thinking TA, doing TA, or living TA? Explore when to embody, share or explain TA frameworks in relational work.
Whose work is it? ~ Reflect on autonomy, co-creation and power dynamics within coaching and developmental relationships.
Working from the inside to the outside ~ Explore contemporary ego state models and the role of awareness in relational presence.
Dancing in the OK-OK box ~ Notice how old scripts can shape communication and how moving into the Winners Circle can create greater freedom & authenticity.
Intercultural competence ~ Explore how awareness of differing frames of reference deepens intercultural understanding and practice.
Learning / coaching is therapeutic ~ Reflect on autonomy and homonomy in your coaching and change work, and how transformation unfolds in the here-and-now.
Each theme offers a starting point for shared inquiry and reflection. The sessions will evolve in response to the questions, experiences and curiosities most alive within the group. Your active engagement will make this a space of deep connection and learning.
Together we will create a learning community grounded in curiosity, presence and meaningful dialogue.
